Chiller Theatre: Convention Review
Icons of the Ring recently attended the October 2005 Chiller Convention.  While Chiller is usually known for it's horror movie guests; recent years have seen a handful of Pro Wrestling superstars.  This year was no exception!  October's convention saw a large list of pro wrestling personalities.  Here's a list of the wrestler's that attended.  Please forgive us if we left one or two out!
Captain Lou Albano, Tito Santana, Rick Martel, Abdullah the Butcher, Vince Russo,Ken Patera, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Nikita Koloff,Paul Ellering, Mick Foley, Rob Van Dam, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, and the Warlord!  That's almost a small wrestling convention in itself!   In this review we will cover our day at the convention.  Sit back and enjoy!
First we spoke with Rob Van Dam.  We had a great conversation with RVD about his comic store in California.  RVD was very down to earth, and seemed to really want to speak with his fans.  He had his old ECW TV Title with him and allowed fans to put it on their shoulders for a photo op.  Not too shabby!  RVD spoke with Icons of the Ring about returning to WWE.  He said he'll be back by January 1st.  He also went into detail about his training and rehabilitation of his knee.  He said he's not really up to his high flying just yet, but he will be.  Then RVD, noticing IOTR's Mike K's jacket, asked Mike who his favorite Transformer is.  Mikey, naturally replied Optimus Prime.  RVD said that most people say that, and then he further asked about transformer's and shared some stories about how he had to track down his favorite old transformer's toy.  Great story!  RVD was hilarious and we had a great time talking.  Cool dude.  Can't wait to see him back in the ring.  His autograph was $20 and worth it!

RVD speaks about Transformers with Icons of the Ring creator Mike K.
Throughout the convention the Icons staff met various wrestlers and discussed some old times.  Here are some more photo's from the event.

Next up, we spoke with Jimmy Snuka.  Now this was a totally different experience all around.  Snuka was a class act and a pleasure to meet.  I gladly spent $20 for his autograph, he is a true legend.  We spoke about how I got in trouble for jumping off my bed pretending to be Snuka as a child.  He laughed and said "Bruddah, I'm sorry I was a bad influence!"  I asked him if he was wrestling at the WWE pay per view Taboo Tuesday, where the fans "vote" for who they want to see.  Needless to say Snuka told me that he was wrestling on RAW and Taboo Tuesday.  So does this mean that Taboo Tuesday is fixed?  I guess you'll never know.
Jimmy Snuka and Mike K. have fun discussing old times and his upcoming WWE appearances!
Overall this convention was amazing!  Best Chiller I've been to in years.  A bit over crowded though.  If it continues having wrestler's there, Icons of the Ring will be there to cover it!  I just hope the Iron Sheik doesn't read this and wants to put the camel clutch on my ass!
